King County and Washington state are experiencing the highest number of fentanyl-related overdoses in history. In King County alone, fentanyl-related deaths have increased from 3 in 2016 to 314 to date in 2021. In response to this crisis, King County developed Laced & Lethal, a public health campaign that educates teens and adults on the dangers of fentanyl-laced drugs and ways to prevent a fatal overdose.
To spread fentanyl and overdose prevention awareness throughout King County and Washington state, Laced & Lethal has developed a new toolkit for partners and members of the community. This toolkit includes insightful tips, materials, and resources for community education.

Katie Weber works with nonprofit and government clients to develop campaigns addressing health-related topics such as opioid misuse and recovery, marijuana use, alcohol misuse, and more. She oversaw the research, development, and execution of the Laced & Lethal campaign in close partnership with King County Department of Community & Human Services and Public Health - Seattle & King County.
Speakers:
Brad Finegood, MA, LMHC, works as a Strategic Advisor on behavioral health for Public Health – Seattle & King County. He recently served as a co-chair of the King County Heroin and Prescription Opiate Task Force. He received his bachelor’s degree from Michigan State University and his master’s in community agency counseling with a specialty in alcohol and drug abuse from Western Michigan University. Finegood has worked in the behavioral health field for 25 years in both substance use disorder and mental health administration and direct service. Most importantly, he is the sibling and survivor of a younger sibling that passed away of an overdose.
Erin has almost a decade of experience in substance use prevention and works collaboratively with partners to develop relevant public health information and resources. Erin specializes in developing strategic programming for youth and adults on the prevention/intervention topics of mental health, marijuana, opioids, overdose and naloxone. Erin engaged Rescue Agency to research and develop the Laced & Lethal campaign with input from partners and created a responsive naloxone access program through Kelley-Ross Pharmacy.
