April Webinar Intentional Equity-1

LEARNING OBJECTIVES

Nearly every public health communications campaign includes health equity as an objective. But marketing channels are fundamentally inequitable, and campaigns that are not intentionally equitable end up being unintentionally inequitable. Health communicators must approach marketing channels with an understanding of their inherent biases and implement strategies to overcome those biases to design and implement truly equitable health communications campaigns.

In this new webinar, Rescue Agency President and Executive Creative Director Jeff Jordan will examine what inequity looks like in health communications, including equitable research, equitable messaging, and equitable media planning. Using our new Intentional Equity Framework, he will discuss ways to counter biases at each stage of the campaign development and implementation process. You'll learn how to:

  • Conduct research to uncover factors associated with increased risk to use in campaign development
  • Develop messaging that prioritizes those at greatest need without alienating broader populations
  • Recognize the biases in traditional and digital media planning and identify strategies to mitigate them
